CAYBBA Code of Conduct Policy

Hello Chaska Basketball Familes -

CAYBBA is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all our athletes, coaches, families, visitors, and volunteers. The CAYBBA Board of Directors take all reports of code of conduct infractions seriously.   We have a high standard of conduct for our players, parents and coaches.

CAYBBA aligns with the Youth 1st and Conduct 1st environment sponsored by MYAS/MYBA.  The core tenant of this initiative is mutual respect.  Please treat players, parents, coaches, officials and the volunteer board with RESPECT.

The intent of the Code of Conduct is to ensure that all players, guardians and coaches share the same understanding of what will and will not be tolerated during practice, games, tournaments and while interacting with teammates both on and off the court.

Coaches Responsibility

Coaches are responsible to report all infractions on the tracking form located on the CAYBBA website. Documenting infractions ensures information is captured in one location and readily available to a small group of Board members should there be a need to follow up and take additional action.

Parent and Athlete Responsibility

Parents and athletes should work with the coaches first and foremost if they observe a Code of Conduct infraction. Ultimately, we want everybody to feel valued, safe and treated equally in this organization.

In addition, coaches are held to the same level of conduct, and should a parent view a coach's behavior that does not align with the CAYBBA Code of Conduct, it is their responsibility to report it online. A small group of Board members will investigate the reported infraction and determine appropriate next steps.

As part of the basketball registration process,  all players and parents agreed to the CAYBBA Code of Conduct.  Since we have enhanced/updated our policy and refined our process, all participating members need to review in detail and sign the electronic Code of Conduct located here:

https://www.cognitoforms.com/Chaska1/CAYBBACodeOfConduct2022

The updated Code of Conduct document, this summary of responsiblities and the incident reporting link will be made available on the Chaska Basketball website.

CAYBBA Board of Directors Responsibility

A subset of the CAYBBA Board commits to reviewing all reported infractions and determining appropriate next steps. This will be done in alignment of the posted Code of Conduct and following up as appropriate.
