Philosophy

In-House basketball opportunities are offered for children in grades 1 through 8. Teams are formed at random or through a draft. Teams will be formed with talent as evenly spread as possible.

In grades 1-3, we focus on developing skills with drills on dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and rebounding. A structured league is played at most levels. All players participate equally. Teams are selected through a random draft.

Common t-shirts give a sense of community and promote good sportsmanship.

In grades 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 In-House, we focus on the value of teamwork.

Teams are selected by player evaluations and draft process. Balancing competition is the priority in selecting teams.

A maximum of two coaches may request to work together.

Teams typically have 1 practice and 1 game per week.

Playing time is shared during the games and we limit roster size to 10 players.

A tourney is held at the end of the year.

Every participant receives a trophy for his or her efforts throughout the year.

Boys grade 4 and grade 5 teams, will compete in combined leagues with all Chaska and Chanhassen teams.

All teams will complete in an end season tournament in March – with dates TBD.
